The popularity of cosmetic treatments including surgical and non-surgical procedures is at its peak. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) released its 17th annual multi-specialty statistical information in March and the data indicate a 12% overall boost in cosmetic procedures performed in the United States in 2013. This is reportedly the highest spending on cosmetic surgery since the 2008 recession, with 5 billion for non-surgical procedures and 7 billion for surgical procedures.
A 16 percent increase was reported for liposuction which replaced breast augmentation as the most frequently performed procedure. Americans spent more than one billion was spent on just liposuction surgery.
